Quality Reasons Behind Defeating Immigration "Reform"

The Border Line, an immigration blog, has written a short piece about Newt's recent Citizens United ad regarding the border (viewable here.)

McCain has defended his support of the immigration bill, saying that it does not offer amnesty, but a chance for illegal immigrants to come forward, pay a fine, learn English and meet other requirements to become legal residents.

This quote highlights a key point in the immigration debate. The majority of Americans are worried about those here illegally; however, they are even more concerned that illegal immigration will continue to happen just like it did after the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Act. The only winning position on immigration is one that doesn't address illegal immigrants in this country until the border is secured and the continuance of the flow of illegal immigration is halted.

Read Newt's Practical Steps to Solving Immigration, American Identity, and Border Security to read a policy that is beyond a 30-second sound bite and calls for the proactive real change that true leadership provides.
